Alone you say? not a care in the world? Let me see, first NAP! yes a nice cool relaxing nap under a nice ceiling fan. My wiiwork outs without an audience. Blogging without interruptions, or opening pages and having them sit there for multiple hours while I get people snacks/drinks/meals/clean clothes.
Reading a Very good book. Listening to the radio. Walking without Bears following me. Yes Alone sounds so very dreamy! Happy VGNO!Enjoy your Vacation as soon as you get it!

That's always tough for me. I try to get work done because overall that does help my mood. lol. I also try to clean because of the same. So, depending on how much time I have, I'd spend a bit cleaning, working and then relaxing. I just had Sunday to myself and I spent the entire day in bed sleeping, reading, and watching tv. Yep...totally wasted time...although I also had a sinus infection. Anyway, after a day of complete nothing I feel better than I have in a long time. So, the next day I have coming up...I will spend alone again but this time working a bit and then going out. I take time with friends...but I also need alone time. So, when I know the kids will be gone..i choose that time to be alone. My husband will always be there to take care of the kids if I want to go out...but I do not always get alone time.

Kind of. I'm living with my parents while my husband is deployed (for the company and for help with my daughter) I have all of my card making stuff in my mom's office/sewing room. Usually at my house though it's all in the basement and I pull out bits and pieces as I have time to work on it. Once my hubby comes home I fully intent to organize my basement room better and really turn it into my crafty space.

I don't mind reviews as long as they're honest. That is, if I can see the same exact thing elsewhere, I don't trust it. I also don't trust any blog where every single review is a good one. You've seen my blog; even though I don't officially "review" stuff, I do talk about it, and many times I don't like it, or like parts of it, and I say so.

We have a back deck that would be perfect as an alternative workspace, except for those very same mosquitoes you mention, as well as some nasty black flies that bite.

We're working on building something out there that's enclosed with screens or glass.

Will send photos when there's something to photograph. Meanwhile, I've been working at home for thirty years. There's nothing like it, as you know.

Thanks for your comment, Richele. I even like some of the reviews, and feel if it's your blog, write about whatever floats your boat.

But.....

I did on a post a few weeks ago on my other blog asking what my readers felt made a good blog. Many liked the personal touch with pics of kids and cute kid stories.

I just read the blog post you mentioned. I hate to admit it..but when I look through blogs and see reviews I pass over them most of the time. I only read curriculum or book reviews really.

I have done my share of reviews and even have a review blog (that I rarely use). I developed a review blog to keep the advertising off my main blog. I have a love/hate relationship with reviews. I will admit I enjoy doing them more than reading them. I will also say most aren't worth the time. I also wonder if we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Companies give us a free product and we give them advertising directly to their target audience. Should a reviewer get paid? Well...that has it's own issues. But that's another story.

I say blog about what you want...but don't expect a ton of respect if it is obvious you review solely to get a free product. If you review items you have an interest in and everyone knows it...that's a different story. I'm a homeschooler and I review curriculum or items pertaining to education. However, if you read my blog I have a ton more than reviews and some reviews I did on my own. Am I superior? NO! HARDLY! I just found a niche. I think that those who love to review will find credibility in finding a niche and post about a topic every now and then. Sprinkle in some recipes and how-to's. That's just my opinion.

Oh and yes, I have done my share of "I want that" and did a review for it. lol. Why not? But I think those types of reviews...those outside your niche..need to be on products that are particularly good. This way if you choose to have a review blog...you can retain credibility even if you are not into sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings.

After 10 years making websites, I still think that this is the easiest way to promote a service or anything else!

Blogs need to be updated very often and micro niches are not getting much traffic usually!

It's hard to make it out there, but with lots of work, it's worthed! ;)
